Fun & Easy Wrap Ideas For Kids Lunches

If your little ones are bored of sandwiches for their packed lunch, or you simply want to give them something new to enjoy as part of their packed lunch, then wraps are perfect! They’re quick and easy to make, so are ideal when you’re a busy parent, store well in a lunchbox and can be filled with a whole range of toppings to suit the tastes of your little one.

Wraps are filling, nutritious and fit perfectly in small hands, but if you’re looking for wrap ideas for kids, then here are some great ideas you can use to create a tasty lunch for your little one.

Easy Wrap Ideas For Kids

Making wraps for your little one’s lunches take just a few minutes to make and require just a few ingredients. You’ll need the wraps of your choice, such as our Regal Whole Wheat Tortillas, an ingredient to help hold the wrap together such as hummus, mayo or cream cheese, then protein-rich fillings and a selection of fresh veg or salad.

To make a wrap that is easy for little hands to hold, simply lay out the wrap or tortilla, then spread with your chosen ingredient to hold it all together, add any proteins or veg/salad and then, starting from one side, roll up very tightly and cut into small hand-sized portions. Now you’ve got your ingredients and method, let’s look at easy wrap ideas for kids lunches!

Chicken, Lettuce & Cottage Cheese

This wrap is fairly plain in terms of taste and uses a mixture of textures, so when you’re looking for wrap ideas for kids lunches, this is a good place to start. Roast chicken or chicken slices work well in this wrap, then add in some shredded lettuce (spinach also works well) and a light filling of cottage cheese. If your little one enjoys this wrap, then you can add different fillings to the wrap, such as spring onion, cucumber or grated cheese!

Pizza Pinwheels

Pizza pinwheels are quick and easy to make and are an ideal lunchbox snack, especially for fussy eaters. To make, you will need wraps (our Regal White Tortilla Wraps are perfect!), pizza sauce, ham or meat alternative (or you can leave it just cheese), grated cheddar, 1 beaten egg and a tsp of mixed herbs. To make, preheat your oven to 180ºc. Spread a layer of pizza sauce over the wrap, making sure to leave a border around the edge. Arrange the ham or meat substitute evenly, then scatter the cheese over the top. Starting at one end of the wrap, roll the wrap as tightly as possible and then cut the wrap into equal slices and lay them flat on a baking tray. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle herbs over the top, baking for 5-10 minutes until golden and melted. Once cooked, leave to cool and keep in the fridge until putting into your kid’s lunchbox.

Banana and Peanut Butter Roll

Not all kids like savoury foods for their lunch, so this wrap idea for kids combines sweet flavours and textures. Instead of using a savoury filling to hold the wrap together, use peanut or nut butter instead. Spread this out evenly across the wrap and top with banana slices or strawberry slices. Then, roll the wrap up tightly and cut into smaller, bitesize slices.

Alongside wraps, be sure to pack your little one’s lunchbox with tasty and healthy snacks to give them a well-balanced lunch. Here at Regal Foods, we have a great selection of snacks that can be added to lunchboxes from our Marble Fairy Cakes to Dried Apricots. Shop today!
